Baltimore Sun: SU Partnership Provides Collaboration Opportunities with Sumy State University in Ukraine

As ºÚÁϳԹÏÍø students return to campus this fall, school officials are looking far beyond the Eastern Shore — to northeastern Ukraine, where a partnership helps students continue classes, despite being near the frontlines of a war. The city of Sumy was one of the first places hit when Russia invaded Ukraine in 2022. It’s not uncommon for the school’s students to attend classes remotely, from basements or bomb shelters. “Yet, the city continues, the university continues,” said Dr. Alla Krasulia, head of Sumy State’s International Relations Office.

This year’s Free Application for Federal Student Aid is opening soon. Officials shared why students should apply for FAFSA early. At ºÚÁϳԹÏÍø, Interim Financial Aid Director Michael Elliott said, “it’s the federal application that students and their parent contributors complete to determine eligibility for certain financial aid programs.” Elliott is reminding students they must apply every year for FAFSA. It is not a one time application. New this year, FAFSA has made some changes that officials hope will make the process easier.
