Why Get a Meal Plan?

  • Save Money – Meal plans cost less per meal than paying with cash. The more meals you include, the more you save.
  • Save Time – No grocery runs, no cooking, no dishes. We've got it all covered.
  • No Cash Needed – Just swipe your Gull Card—no need to carry cash or cards.
  • Share the Experience – Every meal plan includes guest passes, so you can treat friends or family to a meal on campus.
  • Plenty of Choices – Use Dining Dollars at any of our on-campus dining spots for flexibility and variety.

How do I know which meal plan is right for me?
It depends on how often you plan to eat on campus. If you like the flexibility of unlimited meals and frequent dining hall visits, the All-Access Plan is likely your best fit. If you prefer fewer meals and more control, a Block Plan (like the 200 Block) might work better.

Each semester, first-year students and those in traditional housing can choose between the All-Access Plan and the 200 Block Plan. Upper-class students living in Chesapeake Hall, Sea Gull Square, or Sea Gull Village can choose from any available meal plan.

What is served at the Dining Hall?
The Commons Dining Hall offers a delicious variety of heart-healthy dishes, comfort food classics, and innovative, trend-inspired creations. With an ever-changing menu, it’s the perfect place to satisfy your cravings. Throughout the year, enjoy over a dozen Festival of Food events, celebrating local, national, and global cuisines. Visit the UDS website for daily menus and special features.

What are Dining Dollars?
Dining Dollars are a prepaid account linked to your Gull Card, included and only available with your meal plan. They can be used at any on-campus dining location and offer a convenient, tax-free way to make purchases, saving you approximately 6% on every transaction.

Your Dining Dollars balance is easy to monitor; it appears at the bottom of each dining receipt and can also be checked anytime.

All meal plans come with a set amount of Dining Dollars, and you can at any point during the semester. Please note that unused Dining Dollars expire at the end of the Spring semester.
